Issan region highlighted

The North Eastern region of Thailand (known as issan) is the gateway to Laos and contains some of the best examples of Khymer temples in the kingdom. To the Northern tip is the mighty Mae Khong River and border crossings to the Peoples Republic of Laos. As the least visited region in the country the area is unique in a blend of Kymer, Lao and Thai culture combination.
