"We're from the North so we
know
the area"
About TrekkingNorthern Thailand Treks start at a minimum of two days and generally involve a drive of between 2-4 hours from Chiang Mai city. Trekking then begins with the jungle paths leading to forested mountains. Walking times vary between 4-8 hours according to trek chosen. Less walking is required on the days of elephant rides or bamboo river rafting. Most treks are suitable for all age groups but we advise against taking children under six. We have had people of over seventy enjoy this healthy pursuit. Nights are spent at the tribal villages in bamboo style huts.
GroupsGroups are generally between 4-10 persons but individual treks can be arranged. The rates below are based on groups of a minimum of 4. The guides speak English and tribal languages and will explain the cultural and lifestyles of the groups visited. Guides and porters also bring food for the trips and are responsible for cooking. Types of dishes include Thai favourites, such as sweet and sour, vegetable soups, fried rice, delicious omelette's etc. Their cooking skills are regularly praised by hungry trekkers. Many will play musical instruments and tell jokes. Entertainers, educators, and companions are all skills of the guides and the sense of camaraderie felt between the group and guide makes this an unforgettable bonding experience. Before Your Go....
